The CARE Consortium is proud to announce the launch of the first tier of the CARE-SALTOS Integrated (CSI) Study: Tier 1 Biennial Assessments. In Tier 1, former CARE study participants who have graduated or departed from their undergraduate institutions will be invited to participate in remote, online surveys as a part of the CSI Study. Participants will be contacted by email, text or by a University of Michigan survey research operations (SRO) specialist inviting them to complete the study questionnaires either online or over the telephone. If completed online, the surveys can be accessed 24/7 via the secure CSI study portal. The study portal is compatible with all major electronic devices including laptops, tablets, and smart phones.
Over the course of five years, Tier 1 study participants will be asked to complete the study questionnaires two times. Participants will be compensated for their time in completing these brief assessments.
The purpose of these surveys is to capture longitudinal data on the CARE cohort in order to characterize any long-term effects of concussion and/or repetitive head impact exposure.
In the coming months, Tier 2 of the CSI Study will be launched. Tier 2 involves inviting former participants to visit a study site in-person to complete research assessments and imaging. More information will be available on these visits soon.
